This is another feather in the cap of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. He was invited by Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena as guest of honour at the second anniversary celebrations of Sri Lanka’s National Unity government.
The invitation came in the backdrop of Sri Lanka launching a poverty alleviation programme in 2017, prioritising ‘science, technology and innovation’ in leapfrogging development. In his invitation, the Sri Lanka PM commended Naidu for his own efforts “in fighting poverty and bringing innovation close to the lives of people”. The President has invited Naidu to speak on the theme “prosperity to all.”
Chandrababu Naidu is leaving for Sri Lank on January 8.
Sirisena with his wife Jayanthi Pushpa Kumar visited Tirumala temple last year.
