Chiranjeevi is an eternal optimist. He believes that he has enormous following among the youth. It is because of this following that the Congress wanted me to join them, he said in Nellore on Thursday.
He also revealed that Jagan wanted CM’s post as his heridatary right, and approached him for support immediately after YSR’s death. But we are not in dynastic politics, he said.
While Chiranjeevi continues to sound happy about his standing in Congress, his MLAs are seething with discontent. Though CM Kiran Kumar Reddy is in Delhi trying to sort the issue of induction of former PRP MLAs, the high command, busy with Lok Pal bill, is yet to give its nod.
While it is unlikely that Chiru’swish for three berths in the cabinet is fulfilled, even his choice of MLAs may not get Congress Party’s consent. His choice is C Ramachandraiah, but the latter is an MLC. Presently, only MLAs are inducted into the cabinet. Accommadating an MLC at this stage might open a can of worms for the CM.
Besides, the other MLA proposed by Chiru is Ganta Srinivasa Rao, who also belong to the same community. Inducting two ministers who are from the same community is a tough choice for Kiran.
No wonder, Kiran is spending one more day on Friday to find a solution.
