The entire state as well as Telugus living across the world have been waiting with bated breath for the outcome of the by-polls in seven assembly segments in the state.

Counting for all 7 seats will start at 8 am and trends are expected to be known by 10 am.

The by elections are crucial for five political parties in the state – YSR Congress, TRS, TDP, Congress and BJP. The CPMa few and Lok Satta are also contesting in a few seats, but for them, these by elections are not a matter of survival.

The Kovur (Nellore district) seat result will give clear indications whether YSR Congress Party and Jagan Mohan Reddy will dictate the politics of the state in the coming days and months.

TRS will have show to the world that its grip in Telangana has not slipped one bit by winning with good margins in all five segments it is in contest. Nagam Janardhan Reddy’s case is being keenly watched in Nagarkurnool, as he quit TDP and is contesting as an Independent.

Ruling Congress and Opposition TDP would know whether they are reckoning in electoral politics any more with these results.

The BJP is making its most aggressive bid yet in Mahabubnagar to test its strength in view of its firm stand on Telangana.
