Chandrababu, as could be expected, gave his first interview after concluding his Vastunna Mee Kosam padayatra to ABN Andhra Jyothy. Babu is nowadays is ‘very clear’ about who is important for him and who is not!
In the interview, for a change, the TDP chief admitted that it was his ‘craze for name and fame’ during his CM days that had undone him. He said that he returned to his ‘pre-1999- self. “I have learnt quite a lot (during the padayatra). I am now a changed man. Instead of my expressing views all the time, I now devote more time to hear other points of view. In one word, you will henceforth see the pre-1999 Babu,” he said.
Stating that he was never after ostentation, Chandrababu said he was asked whether Jagan’s sprawling palace did not make him feel jealous. “I said no. Because I don’t want to build a castle and keep it as a haunted house. I live in a three-bed-room house along with my son and daughter-in-law. That is more than sufficient for us..”, he said.
Asked about family disputes, Chandrababu said he was always for unity among family members and strove for it. But at the same time, party is supreme. He said he does not know why Harikrishna stayed away from Vizag meet.
On Lokesh, he said his son was doing well as a family member and a businessman. Lokesh was welcome to enter politics full time, but it is up to him to wade through the difficult path, Chandrababu said.
