From ‘Jagan go back’ to ‘welcome to Jagan’, relations between TRS and YSR Congress seem to have undergone a sea change in a short time.
TRS and Jagan are presently warming up to a political friendship. Jagan’s statement that YSR Congress would not be contesting in Telangana by-polls seems to have served its purpose.
TRS MLA K T Rama Rao on Saturday breathed fire at TDP and Congress for faulting Jagan’s statement that YSR Congress would not be in the race for Telangana by-polls.
It was not long ago when Jagan’s Manukota Odarpu Yatra was turned into a battle by TRS.
Earlier, taking umbrage at Jagan’s statement, Congress leaders like Anam Vivekananda Reddy and Sailjanath on Saturday lambasted YSR Congress as endorsing the separatist sentiment.
“Jagan is compromising on the unity of the state for his political interests,” Anam alleged.
Meanwhile, Parakala MLA Konda Surekha, securing whose political future was one of the goals of Jagan’s stand, shot off two letters to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, accusing them of betraying Telangana.
While decks seem to have been cleared for Jagan’s proposed Odarpu Yatra in Telangana soon, it would be interesting to watch the reaction of TRS when YSR Congress actually makes inroads in Telangana.
