Gali Janardhana Reddy, who is presently in the custody of CBI in Bangaluru, allegedly told his interrogators that he had paid Rs 500 cr to the then Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy for covering the 2009 Assembly and Parliament elections.
Reddy also told the CBI sleuths that he was also entrusted by the then CM to bear the election expenses of Ananthpur district’ Congress candidates.
It is not known how far will the CBI use this info as it would implicate the Congress Party as well as YSR and Gali.
Meanwhile, another report says that Janardhana Reddy’s personal assistant revealed that he was getting about Rs 150 crore, every month from the mining companies, at the rate of 30 percent of the value of the illegally exploited iron ore.
The shocking revelation came out from Ali Khan, who was personal assistant of the former Karnataka minister during an interrogation carried out by Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with the illegal mining case.
