How much are the first family of Bollywood, the Bachchans, worth? Amitabh Bachchan and his wife Jaya Bachchan have properties worth around Rs 500 crore.
This is what they declared during Jaya’s nomination for Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh. She is contesting as Samajwadi Party nominee.
It may be recalled that the Bachchan family had severed ties with the SP after the Amar Singh episode. But two years after that episode, SP and the Bachchans patched up, reportedly with Anil Ambani mediation.
According to her nomination papers, Jaya has assets worth Rs 91.65 crore. Her husband Amitabh’s properties amount to Rs 402.21 crore.
It is a known fact that the value of many of the assets would be many times more than what is declared during the nominations, because the market values are not always taken into consideration, but only purchase value.
