The IAS and IPS officers who are now functioning from Vijayawada have little or no social life. Used they are to the cosmopolitan culture of Hyderabad, many of these officers and families are finding it difficult to adjust to the new reality.
But the officers seem to be trying to make the best of the situation. For the first time, the IAS and IPS Officers Associations have together organised the New Year celebration at the Berm Park, a tourism facility in Vijayawada.
All the senior officers, including the Chief Secretary S P Tucker and the DGP Sambasiva Rao, along with spouses participated in the event. Cultural program were presented by the family members of the Association.
