KCR said naming Shamshabad Airport terminal after NTR was an insult to Telangana. When everybody in Telangana wants a revival of own culture and history, Centre should not have taken such a decision, he said. There are many stalwarts in Telanganan such Ravi Narayana Reddy and Komaram Bheem after whom the airport can be named, KCR said. He, however, said that Rajiv Gandhi sacrificed for the country and deserved the naming of the Hyderabad airport after him.
