Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy is leaving for Delhi on Tuesday to finalize the much-delayed cabinet expansion. The controversy over inducting C Ramachandraiah is an important issue before the CM, but he has several other proposals for high command’s consideration.
Kiran is likely to advise the party leaders against Ramachandraiah’s inclusion, as it would create more problems than can be handled. Besides the opposition for several party leaders from Kadapa district, Kiran is also worried that many MLCs would be left high and dry if another MLC – a recent entrant into the party – is given ministerial portfolio.
Kiran’s wishlist also includes dropping P Shankar Rao (Textiles) and DL Ravindra Reddy (Medical and Health), Kasu Krishna Reddy (Cooperation) and Thota Narasimham (Stamps and Registration) from the cabinet for both political and competency issues.
If the CM were given a choice, he would like to induct C Adinarayana Reddy (Jammalamadugu, Kadapa) in his cabinet. Adinarayana Reddy, who was with Jagan earlier, later joined hands with Kiran, whom the CM wants to reward.
Kiran has lot of alternatives in the place of Shankar Rao such as G Kuthuhalamma (Gangadhar Nellore, Chittoor) or G Prasada Kumar (Vikarabad) or Kondru Murali Mohan (Rajam, Srikakulam).
The CM also wants to rope in R Damodar Reddy, the Suryapet MLA who has been silent on Telangana for some time now, in the place of R Venkat Reddy, the Horticulture Minister.
