Even as Textiles Minister Dr P Shankar Rao was locked in a fight with Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy, the former has received support from unexpected quarters.
Telangana Front leader Gaddar and MRPS leader Manda Krishna declared that they would fight against the ‘upper caste’ conspiracy against Shankar Rao. Krishna is organizing rasta roko to protest against the alleged attempts at isolating the temperamental Minister.
Shankar continued his tirade against Sabitha, alleging that the Home Minister along with DGP Dinesh Reddy who belong to the same community were after his blood. Following the incident at NTR Nagar in which he was humiliated by miscreants, Shankar Rao charged the Home Minister with harassing innocent people there through police cases.
He reiterated his demand for removal of Sabitha from Cabinet. However, Sabitha has the full backing of CM Kiran Kumar Reddy and hence faces no problem over her continuation in the ministry.
It is Shankar Rao, who is reviled by Kiran. The CM will dismiss him from his Cabinet at the first opportunity. But he hasn’t got the high command’s nod yet.
Meanwhile, Gaddar and Krishna’s support to Shankar Rao will only make matters more complicated for the CM.
