Is Mohan Babu all set to join TDP? If one were to go by the speeches of both the leaders in Tirupati on Monday, such a possibility seems to be inevitable.
Veteran actor and producer Mohan Babu celebrated his 60th birthday on Monday and organized a function on the occasion at his Vidya Niketan Engineering College premises near Tirupati. TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu was the chief guest of the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Chandrababu said he was ready to work with Mohan Babu in the coming days politically. “I invite him to work with me in politics for the good of the people. A lot of good work can be done by our joining our hands together,” he told an impressive gathering of students and several film celebrities.
Mohan Babu, who had clarified that there were no political reasons for his invitation to Chandrababu before the function, however went to praise the TDP leader sky high. He reeled out the achievements of Chandrababu during his tenure as Chief Minister and called upon all the people to support the TDP chief in his endeavors.
“This is not the right occasion to talk about politics. But I can say that the state developed a lot during Chandrababu rule,” the former Rajya Sabha member and maverick actor said.
Mohan Babu who sailed with Chandrababu after the split within TDP later fell out with the former Chief Minister. Though subsequently he was not active in politics, Mohan Babu became friends with the late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy when the latter was CM. Following his son Vishnu’s love marriage to Viranica, daugther of YSR’s brother, the bond between them further strengthened.
After YSR’s death, Mohan Babu seems to have turned friendly towards Chandrababu. His daughter Lakshmi Prasanna also seems to have had a role in influencing his father in his changed attitude towards the TDP chief.
Going by the developments, it is evident that Mohan Babu is likey to entrust with Chittoor district responsibilities of the party in the near future.
