Stung by reports of his future political foray, actor Nagarjuna clarified on Monday that he was far from planning to enter politics. Explaining his words in Tirumala the other day, he said that he had only pointed out that everybody should keenly follow the political developments and political leaders in the state, since it would have an impact on our lives.
“I never claimed I was interested in politics, except that I follow the developments on a day-to-day basis. I don’t have any intention to enter political arena,” Nagarjuna said in Hyderabad.
Nag had always hobnobbed with political personalities, starting from Chandrababu, later Rajasekhara Reddy and recently even Jagan. Soon after the demise of YSR, Nag was reported in the press as having commented that Jagan was the right kind of person to be the CM of the state.
It may be recalled that the Akkineni family’s 7 Acre studio site in Jubilee Hills area was sought to be converted for commercial use during YSR regime. Nag wanted to build a hub with malls etc, which is not allowed as per the government regulations. The file witnessed some movement in YSR government when Nag was getting cozy with him.
His sudden death, however, left Nag’s plans in disarray. It was at this point that he seemed to veer towards Jagan.
The actor seemed to have backed out after he had realized that Jagan was not likely to be made CM by the Congress.
