Nannapaneni Rajakumari, the TDP MLC, is caught in a cleft stick. It is by now well-know that her daughter and son-in-law are active in Jagan’s YSR Congress Party for some time now.
Rajakumari’s daughter Sudha had a love marriage with Lateesh Reddy from Chittoor district. Both of them are doctors by profession. However, Ritish Reddy has been spending lot of time with YSR Congress and slowly, even Sudha was slowly drawn into the party activities.
With Jagan too encouraging them, Rajakumari had no option but to leave them to their choice. She reportedly told Chandrababu Naidu about the development, who understood the situation.
Jagan is said to have promised Vinukonda ticket to Sudha in the next Assembly elections, where she has bright chances of winning. Chandrababu, however, could not promise as he could not deny the ticket to the sitting MLA Anjaneyulu the ticket.
While the issue is settled as far as her daughter and son-in-law being active in YSR Congress Party, Rajakumari’s standing within TDP got a little shaken with the development. She could not be her former fiery self in attacking Jagan.
But the reports that she is likely to desert TDP are speculative, since she has two more years of term as MLC. Besides, she is not likely to get any better position with Jagan at her age now.
