How can Jagan be mentioned as accused number one in the charge sheet filed by the CBI without even questioning him even once? That is the question posed by D A Somayajulu, member of YSR Congress Party Central Governing Council and Jagan’s close confidante.

Asserting that the party would wage a legal battle against the charge sheet, he also wondered how the charge sheet was filed without interrogating the Ministers and Secretaries involved in the case.

The CBI has not framed any charges against Jagan, except that he colluded with this father, Somayajulu contended. All this exercise was only to extend the incarceration of Vijaya Sai Reddy, the accused number two in the case, he alleged.

Somayajulu also pointed out that the Ministers, who received notices issued by Supreme Court for their role in 26 controversial GOs, did not find a mention in the charge sheet. “Evidently, the charge sheet is a conspiracy by the bigwigs in the ruling party,” he fumed.

Meanwhile, legal experts point out that Jagan could be arrested by CBI any time now on a warrant issued by the Nampally court. Filing of the charge sheet means that the case has become a part of the process of the CBI court.
