Satellite rights of Rajanna starring Nagarjuna have been reportedly sold for a whopping Rs 5 crore. Maa TV lapped up the period film based on a rebel who fought against Razakars. Vijiyandraprasad, father of S S Rajamouli, is directing the film.
The price is raising eye brows in the industy.
The film’s audio was released directly into the market today without a grand function which is the order of day. Keeravani composed the music and the film has eleven songs.
The film is loosely based on Suddala Hanumanthu, father of lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja, who inspired thousands in pre-Independence Telangana against the atrocities of the Nizam. Hanumanthu’s popular song Veyyi Veyyi Debbaku Debba is said to be the highlight of the film.
The historical drama is being produced by Supriya, Nag’s cousin, who is also the director of Annapurna Studios, the banner under which the film is being presented. Supriya claims that the budget was not compromised for the film which required authenticity.
The film is set to release in the third week of December.
