CM Kiran Kumar Reddy in general and Home Minister Sabitha Indrareddy in particular find themselves cornered with MRPS leader Manda Krishna launching an offensive in support of Minister P Shankar Rao.
Krishna held a public ‘self-respect’ meeting and organized a ‘paalbhishekam’ to Shankar Rao at the same NTR Nagar where he was allegedly attacked by Sabitha’s men. Gaddar, P V Krishnaiah and other leaders attended the meet.
The symbolic value apart, the protest is likely to intensify with Manda Krishna raising the pitch against Sabitha. He displayed flexi prints which showed Shankar Rao as devil and as a dog, which allegedly were put up by Sabitha’s men at NTR Nagar. The insulting depiction is only because Shankar Rao is a dalit, says Krishna.
The MRPS leader also demanded to know why SC, ST Atrocity case was not filed against the men who were responsible for the attack. He claimed it was because the Home Minister, CM, DGP and the ACP all belonged to the same community.
“We see it as one community insulting a dalit Minister wilfully,” he declared. Interestingly, Shakar Rao is a Mala, while Krishna’s MRPS is fighting for reservation to Madigas.
Krishna’s zeal to fight for the self-respect of Shankar Rao is causing insecurity for Sabitha, who is already reeling under OMC Mines case and other allegations against her son Kartik Reddy.
