Sakshi media has today received relief from the AP High Court, which ordered ‘defreezing’ of its bank accounts. Sakshi management filed a petition in the HC against CBI’s action freezing the bank accounts of Jagathi Publications, Indira Television Pvt Ltd and Janani Infra.
The development has come on a day when Jagan was issued summons by the CBI to appear before it on Friday, which is day after tomorrow.
Justice Chandrakumar, while striking off the CBI freeze, said that all transactions of the media houses should made only through cheques henceforth and sureties should be provided to the CBI against spending fixed deposits in the banks.
The CBI had frozen bank accounts of Jagathi Publications (publishers of Sakshi daily), Indira Television Pvt Ltd (Sakshi TV) and Janani Infra on May 8. Sakshi management filed a petition against the freeze in the CBI court, which upheld the agency’s move. Sakshi, then, appealed in the High Court, which provided the much-needed relief for the beleaguered Jagan Mohan Reddy.
