With former PRP leaders and cadre getting completely sidelined within Congress, the Chiranjeevi group is totally jittery. The latest outburst of Minister C Ramachandraiah expressing his discontent at the way Congress has been treating the merged entity is an indication that things have sour for Chiru men.
Interestingly, Ramachandraiah, a close confidant of Chiranjeevi, himself a reporter from TV9 in Tirupati on Sunday to vent his anger against the Congress leadership. The purpose obviously is to issue a warning to Kiran and Botsa on the discontent brewing in the PRP camp.
Ramachandraiah minced no words about the deep regret over the merger decision. “We are coming to the conclusion that we did not probably did the right thing by merging out party with the Congress,” he said.
A major complaint of former PRP leaders is that they have absolutely no say in the affairs of the government both at Hyderabad and local level. While nobody in government seems to be particularly bothered to entertain the PRP leaders, at the constituency level, the Congress MLAs have been completely ignoring the Chiranjeevi men.
He made it clear that if the situation does not improve in the coming days, all former PRP leaders and cadre will be looking at other parties for better future.
Interestingly, Ramachandraiah blamed both CM Kiran Kumar Reddy as well as PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana for the failure of the marriage between PRP and Congress. “They are not doing anything at their end to bring about cohesion between the two groups,” he said.
He warned that the Congress Party would face its gravest danger in the state, if it did not make coordinated efforts to strengthen the party.
