TRS is leading with a thumping margin in Telangana, while Jagan’s YSR Congress is ahead of Congress and TDP in Andhra and Rayalaseema where by-elections are likely. This is according to an opinion poll conducted at the behest of the ruling Congress Party.
The survey was conducted between December 17 to 20 of 2011 in these constituencies by Foundation for Rural and Social Development (FRSD), Secunderabad.
A total of 1017 respondents were interviewed in all the constituencis to collect the data.
A total of 7 constituencies will go to by-polls in Telangana region.
Except in Mahbubnagar and Nagarkurnool, TRS is in a position to return its candidates in the rest of the constituencies – Kollapur, Adilabad, Station Ghanpur, Kamareddy and Parakala – with landslide victories.
In Mahbubnagar, Congress has an edge followed by TDP, while TRS is in third position. Nagarkurnool will see Telangana Nagara Samithi chief Nagam Janardhan Reddy elected without much trouble.
YSR Congress leader Konda Surekha is lagging behind TRS in Parakala. In most of the constituencies, Congress is on the heels of TRS, while TDP is in third position. YSR Congress has little presence in Telangana except on Parakala.
