Telangana Congress MLAs have now a bright chance of becoming a Minister in Kiran cabinet. With CM very particular about maintaining the 42 per cent representation to Telangana region in the cabinet, at least 3 Telangana MLAs have a chance to be inducted into the ministry.

With decks cleared for inducting two more PRP MLAs who are from Andhra, the representation from Telangana has come down further. Out of 36 Ministers in Kiran’s cabinet, only 14 are presently from Telangana region. Which means another 3-4 members from Telangana should be inducted to maintain the political balance.

It is in this backdrop that Kiran is seriously considering expansion of ministry. Soon after the PRP MLAs induction, the CM is likely to get approval from Delhi for his proposal.

The move will also strengthen Kiran’s hands in Telangana region, where he is likely to pick and choose MLAs of his choice for cabinet portfolios. He may also like to use the opportunity to recast his ministry by reallocating the departments, according to sources.
