PCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana’s attempt at foiling TDP’s proposed dharna in Vizianagaram seems to have boomeranged. TDP had sought permission to hold a dharna in Viziangaram but the district collector rejected the letter citing local Congress Party’s plea to hold a counter dharna.

However, as can be expected, TDP lashed out at the collector and Botsa for the refusal and announced that it would go ahead with or without permission. Botsa sought to contain the damage on Sunday saying that he never said that Chandrababu Naidu would not be allowed to hold dharna in Vizianagaram.

But the district party’s letter to the administration to hold its own dharna for three days has drawn flak. “Botsa will hold dharna against whom? Will he demand to allow liquor syndicates,” Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, TDP leader, said sarcastically.

With TDP going ahead with its plans to make a big show in Vizianagaram on Monday, it is to be seen how the ruling party would react.
