TDP claims that ‘new evidence’ to link Jagan Mohan Reddy with Paritala Ravi murder case has surfaced and demanded that the case be reopened. Quoting some reports in this regard, TDP is now hoping that CM Kiran Kumar Reddy would order a new investigation in the light of the new material.
The party says an internal CBI document has reportedly revealed the alleged nexus between Jagan and those accused of murdering Ravi.
After the sitting TDP MLA’s murder on January 24, 2005, the party leaders had accused then chief minister YSR in the state assembly of influencing the investigation to ensure that Jagan’s name did not figure in the CBI charge sheet. The CBI had given a clean chit to Jagan.
But with the change of scene and political heat on Jagan, the Congress is veering round to the view of the TDP over the involvement of Jagan in the Paritala Ravi killing. Or at least that is the perception of the TDP. “A re-investigation would unearth all the facts,” TDP spokesman D Umamaheshwara Rao demanded.
The CBI document allegedly relates to the interrogation of Dantuluri Krishna alias Mangali Krishna in the Ravi murder case.
According to “information” gathered by the CBI, Krishna was Jagan’s neighbor and “front man” in his stronghold Pulivendula. This document prepared on April 17, 2005, by CBI’s investigating officer V. T. Nandakumar apparently exposes the nexus between Jagan and Ravi’s killers.
It is alleged that Jagan sought Krishna’s help to eliminate Y S Raja Reddy killer Parthasarathy Reddy, a local TDP leader.
Krishna, in turn, got in touch with Maddelacheruvu Suri, who was locked in a gang war with Ravi. Krishna and Suri struck a deal that first his rival Ravi would be killed and then Parthasarathy, whom Jagan allegedly wanted dead.
The CBI document reportedly says Krishna had extended financial help to Suri to carry out with the killings allegedly with the blessings of Jagan. . Apparently the deal was that Jaganmohan Reddy would help Suri come out of jail if the latter eliminated Parthasarathi Reddy.
