Former Minister and senior Congress Party leader J C Divakar Reddy has always something up his sleeve. JC’s latest revelation is that a signature campaign of people’s representatives is on for Rayala Telangana.
Speaking to reporters in the Assembly lobbies on Wednesday, JC said that even TRS and MIM were agreeable to the proposal. It may be recalled that recently MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, speaking at a meeting in Rayachoti in Kadapa district, made it clear that his party, which was opposed to separate Telangana, was in favour of Rayala Telangana.
The Rayalaseema leaders, led by leaders like JC, have been championing the cause of Rayala Telangana as a way out of the present impasse on Telangana issue.
While MIM was always in favour of such a proposal, considering that Muslim for a large chunk of the population of Kadapa, Kurnool and Anatapur, it is not clear whether TRS is in favour of such a proposal at this stage.
According to JC, the TRS leaders have been in touch with him on this proposal. He also clearly stated that the TRS was in favour of such a proposal.He said Chandrababu Naidu might not agree to the arrangement, but it was time to settle the issue once and for all.
Given that the Centre has completely given up its responsibility on this issue, with Chidambaram saying that it was upto the leaders and people of the state to resolve the issue, JC’s proposal might have many takers in both Telangana and Rayalaseema.
