A TV anchor Shruti alias Meghana Reddy was stabbed by her husband Nagender Reddy on Wednesday in Hyderabad. She was immediately rushed to Gandhi Hospital where her condition is said to be serious. Nagender Reddy surrendered himself in the police station.
Shruti has been anchoring a reality show called ‘Telugu Ammayi” being telecast on Studio N Channel. Shruti and her husband have been living apart since she gave a complaint against him in Malakpet Police Station in February. She alleged that her husband was harassing her, and was also trying to push her into sex trade.
On Wednesday, Shruti, along with two women constables, went to Gandhi Nagar where Nagender Reddy lives , to pick up her belongings. In a fit of emotion, Nagender Reddy reportedly pounced on her with a knife and injured her.
While the girl’s side alleges that Nagender Reddy, who reportedly deals with spy cameras, had flings with several other women, other reports say that Nagender Reddy was not comfortable with Shruti working in television media.
