Can Vayalar Ravi do what Gulam Nabi Azad could not? That is the question doing the rounds of Gandhi Bhavan. The Congress high command dispatched Union Minister and senior leader Ravi on a mission to save the sinking Congress boat in Andhra Pradesh.
Besides the state party affairs in-charge Azad, another leader from Delhi Krishnamurthy too studied the situation in the state and submitted a report to the leadership. Ravi is the third person to sent to diagnose the malaise and suggest remedies.
Ravi is likely to stay in Hyderabad for a few days to discuss with various party leaders on the declining influence of the party. He would make efforts to bring about unity and sense of purpose among the state leadership, which is at loggerheads presently. There is talk that Ravi might replace Gulam Nabi Azad as regular in-charge for AP since the latter has not been able to spend time on the state.
There is speculation that Vayalar Ravi might even suggest change of leadership in the state both in the government and the party. It is to be seen Ravi will be able to provide a fresh direction to the party in the state.
