Asked about his get-up in Panjaa, Kalyan says audience is obsessed with looks. They want heroes to look good and fresh. “I don’t’ know if viewers will accept me if I sport a shaven head like in the film Gajani,” he joked. The beard in the new film has also its own risks. “Seasoned producers advise to have the bearded look in flash back or at least restrict the look to a part of the film,” he said self deprecatingly.
About introducing new faces, he mockingly said that the film Johnny, handled by a new director, tanked at the box office. “I believed him, he betrayed me,” Pawan said tongue in cheek.
Quizzed about his interest in bikes, Pawan revealed he had a repressed desire about them. Since the family did not allow him a two-wheeler for fear of accidents, his obsession with them only got better of him over time. The craze for bikes, which would have stopped at TVS 50, now embraces Heritage Classics and Harley Davidson, he quipped.
