Is the Congress high command thinking in terms of replacing Kiran Kumar Reddy? The question is now doing the rounds of political corridors.

There is lot of discussion going on why Telangana representatives were not given their due in the cabinet. At least 3 more Ministers need to be inducted to maintain regional balance. However, the Congress leadership in Delhi seems to have completely ignored the factor.

The speculation is gaining ground that the Congress high command is considering a Telangana leader – such as Jaipal Reddy – to be anointed as CM in due course. This will solve a host of problems for the party in the state. The Telangana CM can then choose his own Ministers, gaining legitimacy in the region.

If a complete overhaul of the cabinet is not taken up soon, Kiran will end up as a big failure as he is facing stiff resistance from the current members. Any further delay in this exercise can only be explained by the logic that Kiran may not stay too long in the chair.
