The unmanageable crowds that thronged Vijayamma road show in Narasannapet in Srikakulam district have caused tremors within the Congress Party and the TDP. On the very first day that Vijayamma and her daughter Sharmila hit the campaign trail, the response had been humungous sending YSR Congress Party rank and file into ecstasy.
Congress leaders including PCC chief Botsa Satyanrayana and Minister for Srikakulam Dharmana Prasada Rao were reportedly taken aback at the milling crowds who came to listen to the YSR family at Narasannapeta. The TDP also could barely suppress its amazement at the response.
Vijayamma did not exactly mesmerize the people with her less than impressive speech, but Sharmila certainly seems to have struck a cord with the crowd.
However, admittedly there was an element of curiosity among the voters in the roadshows by Vijayamma and family. People want to have a look at late YSR’s wife and his daughter who came to seek their help. They would also be interested in listening to what they have to say about the ongoing developments with regard to Jagan.
The sympathy that the family members are trying to evoke among voters will certainly work in favour of YSR Congress Party. The crowds continue to pour in to watch Jagan’s mother and sister even on the second day. Things seem to be working in favour of Jagan, at least for now.
The YSR Congress leaders are smug about their certain victory in all the 17 seats in Andhra and Rayalaseema post Jagan’s imprisonment and Vijayamma, Sharmila campaign.
