TJAC chairman Kodandaram and Telangana employees JAC leader Srinivas Goud, along with TRS party’s Prabhakar want the Home Minister Sabitha Indrareddy to restrain police from giving protection to TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu during the latter’s tours.
The delegation submitted a memorandum to her at Secretariat on Monday. Kodandaram says police should not prevent ‘people of Telangana’ from expressing their ‘protest’ against Chandrababu Naidu.
Very interesting that a professor and a government gazetted employees leader, along with a political party representative, should argue before the Home Minister that they have a right to disrupt an opposition party leader’s visit.
Asked as to how he could give a call to obstruct a political party’s legitimate activity in the region, Kodandaram said the issue was more complicated than that. Chandrababu was touring with a retinue of anti-social elements who were attacking ‘Telangana people’. He was a bit uneasy at pointed questions by The Hindu reporter on his call to boycott a political party.
He felt such questions were out of context.
