Revanth Reddy’s unexpected courtesy probably caused more pain than pleasure to KCR
It is a poltical masterstroke by Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy. On Sunday, the CM personally visited the BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao, who is recuperating after a hip surgery at Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad.
KCR had a fall in the bathroom at his Erravalli farm house and fractured his hip joint for which surgery was carried out by doctors.
KCR’s son and the second-in-command in BRS KT Rama Rao was present when Revanth Reddy visited KCR and enquired about his health. It appeared as though KCR and KTR were not exactly delighted about the visit. In fact, they clearly felt awkward and embarrassed.
“I wished him a fast recovery. I hope he will get better soon and attend the assembly. His suggestions would help the government,” Revanth told the reporters waiting outside.
By making the personal visit, Revanth, who was sent to jail by KCR’s government not once but twice, probably caused much discomfiture to the father-son duo.
KCR, known for his superciliousness, would not have extended the gesture if the shoe was on the other foot. Many recall that he did not even bother to make any statement when N Chandrababu Naidu with whom he had a long association was jailed or was reported to have suffered ill-health in Rajahmundry jail.
Observers point out that Revanth showed how to sting his enemy through kindness.
