Finally, the PRP is getting its due in the cabinet. Ganta Srinivasa Rao and C Ramachandraiah will be sworn in as Ministers in Kiran Kumar Reddy government on Thursday.
Handlooms Minister P Shankar Rao, who has been a constant headache for Kiran, has been dropped.
The big reshuffle that Kiran wanted has once again been postponed, despite the CM’s best efforts. Many Congress hopefuls, especially from Telangana, who have been camping in Delhi for the last many days, were left high and dry by the Congress leadership.
The latest development is an indication that Kiran is yet to gain the full confidence of the party high command, especially Sonia Gandhi. The leadership clearly is not sure about the CM’s ability to handle the fall-out of the large-scale reshuffle that he has been craving for.
Kiran’s inability to convince Delhi is a setback to the CM’s ambitious plans to bring about a radical change in the governance. There is no doubt that Kiran’s image among his own partymen in the state will take a beating in the aftermath of his failure to assert himself before the leadership..
Sources say Kiran was assured of a full-fledged recast of his cabinet in the next couple of months
