What is behind the coninuing Fevicol bond between Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is difficult to surmise. The only likely explanation is that Nara Chandrababu Naidu is their common political enemy.
Jagan is not joining hands, at least not openly, with KCR on the latter’s war against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. KCR, rather than being cut up with Jagan for not coming along, seems to be very understanding of the situation.
When forming the Andhra Bharata Rashtra Samithi unit, KCR appeared to be keen not on strengthening his newly-floated national party in the state but to ensure that the political interests of his young friend were served.
The effort to wean away Kapus (said to be unhappy with Jagan’s regime) from TDP and Janasena was evident.
Now, it appears that KCR is getting ready to take Pawan Kalyan under his wings and finance his election campaign. The objective reportedly is to consolidate Kapu votes under Pawan’s leadership, dilute anti-incumbancy factor by following the Praja Rajyam model and ensure Jagan’s return to power.
At least, that is the essence of this week’s comment by Andhra Jyothy’s Radhakrishna. Speculation, of course, but plausible.
