Even as the state government is working on a letter written by CBI for attaching assets belonging to Jagan’s media outlets, the beleaguered companies got relief in High Court against withholding government advertisements.
The High Court on Thursday stayed the government order stopping all advertisements to Sakshi daily paper and Sakshi TV. Suspending the order of the Kiran Kumar Reddy government, Justice Seshasayana Reddy directed the government to file a counter before June 16.
The government order dated May 9 had said that ” after careful examination of the matter in public interest (government) have decided to withhold of releasing advertisements, notifications, etc., with immediate effect, by all the State Government Departments/Agencies/Public Sector undertakings/Corporations/Organisations to M/s. Jagati Publications/Sakshi Daily/TV Channel till the charges are cleared.”
Meanwhile, the government is preparing for attachment of properties of the Sakshi media houses. The action follows a letter written by the CBI in this regard. The file is said to be waiting for Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy’s nod.
Sakshi claimed that even if the attachment proceedings were to be initiated, the move would not come in the way of the day-to-day operations of the publication and the television channel.
